Tsuru
In Japan, the crane symbolizes a thousand years of life. The official Sen Shin KanÆ Kamon above was chosen by Rewalt Sensei because of it's meaning and symmetry. The moon shadow was added to the bottom of the Kamon to indicate Rewalt Sensei's origins from the Sei Shin Kan and the legendary elite warrior clan known as TSUKIKAGE MUSHA or Moonshadow Warriors. The Sen Shin Kan Twin Crane Kamon is a Registered Trademark Protected by Federal and International Trademark Laws, it may not be copied or reproduced in any manner without written permission from the Sen Shin Kan

Sen Shin Kan Dojo

Sen Shin Kan is the name of our Dojo (training hall). In Japanese the word Sen means to cleanse, wash or purify ; Shin means heart and mind and Kan is the word for building or hall. Put together, Sen Shin Kan translates as "The place you go to cleanse and purify your heart and mind." The Sen Shin Kan is a traditional Japanese martial arts school or what is known as a SOGO BUJUTSU / BUDO DOJO. The word Sogo means; total, overall, complete, well rounded and Bujutsu / Budo refer to martial techniques or arts. The Sen Shin Kan is one of only a few schools of it's kind outside of Japan. The Sen Shin Kan is not a commercial school. We do not have contracts, there are no testing fees and you pay as you go. Sen Shin Kan training methods are based on traditional concepts. We encourage the development of both the mental and the physical aspects of the martial arts. This means that more time will be spent on training and character development instead of theatrics and commercialism. Training at the Sen Shin Kan is conducted much the same as in Japan. Our training is not for the casual student of the martial arts. There are no shortcuts allowed in training and ultimately you will get out of it what you put into it. Sen Shin Kan training programs are designed for those with long range goals in the marital arts and not for those who wish to become a master in 10 easy lessons. Please note that the sport or competitive aspect of the martial arts are not stressed at the Sen Shin Kan. The Sen Shin Kan is kind of a co-op Dojo. No single person actually owns or operates our Dojo single handed. All students and staff members are equally responsible for the operation and maintenance of our Dojo. Our Dojo is like a second home to our students. They take great care and pride in keeping their Dojo ultra clean and in perfect order at all times. This gives each student a better sense of self-esteem knowing that they belong to a special group of individuals interested in improving the overall quality of their lives through the study of Sogo Bujutsu / Budo at the Sen Shin Kan. Sen Shin Kan and the Sen Shin Kan Sogo Bujutsu / Budo Kai (S.S.K.B.K.) are part of International Organizations dedicated to the promotion and preservation of authentic Sogo Bujutsu / Budo through a series of highly specialized intensive programs and seminars. Those interested in the programs, seminars and membership in the S.S.K.B.K. may inquire by sending E-Mail to the U.S. Headquarters

SOGOBUJUTSU SOGOBUDO MARTIAL SCIENCES

Martial sciences are not martial arts. Martial sciences are not something new. Martial sciences employ highly refined, and specialized combat reality and effectiveness technologies for use in actual life and death engagements, not tournaments or sports. Martial science technologies were originally developed by battleground tested veteran warriors who paid for the crucial information and experiences with blood, sweat, and death......

David Rewalt Sensei
graduation

David Rewalt began his martial arts training in 1988. In 1990 he started training under John Viol Shihan, one of the highest ranking instructors outside of Japan. David has been trained, tested and licensed from Japan to instruct authentic Japanese Martial Arts. In August of 1992, in a special ceremony at the Sei Shin Kan Dojo in Michigan David received his Shidoin(teaching license) to instruct. This special license is a higher rank than any Dan ranking (Black Belt) and has provided David with specialized knowledge not typically found outside of Japan. With the help of Viol Shihan, David founded the Sen Shin Kan Dojo in Atlanta in 2000. Newly relocated to the San Francisco area, David is establishing a new community dedicated to the pursuit of martial sciences.
